Summer Camp 2011

 Summer camp is the heart of YMCA Camp Classen.  Our first and foremost goal is to be the very best Christian co-ed residential summer camp in Oklahoma, in the Southwest, and everywhere else. We want every camper who leaves this place to say "it's my camp!"   As a staff we have spend the entire year working on ways to make the camp experience more significant for both campers and staff. We intend to spend more time helping campers make friendships and develop their character. We are putting more into the camp activities to make each one unforgettable. What makes Camp Classen the Best? 

We start with a foundation in faith and fun filled Christian unity -"...that they may be one as we are one"-John17:22.

We then find the best possible staff who can combine judgement, enthusiasm, with leadership and role-modeling. 

Then top it off with 2400 acres of the most incredible landscape Oklahoma (or Texas) has to offer.  We're talking stone cabins, waterfalls, lakes, hardwood forest, prairie, and ranch land.

 A little more about our staff

At YMCA Camp Classen your family will benefit from the seasoned experience of our professional staff.  We select the best Christian role models to participate in the growth of your child’s spirit, mind and body.  Our nurturing staff are the cornerstone of all great camp experiences.  It is through their leadership, enthusiasm, good nature and judgment that friendships are formed, cabins come together, and kids go home having learned new and exciting skills.  Prior to the camping season, staff go through an intense training period that includes certifications and safety training.  Staff create an environment that helps each child be successful. Your child will live in a cabin with 7 to 11 other campers and 1 to 2 counselors.  The overall ratio of  staff to campers is 1 to 5.  Campers will find staff engaged in every activity throughout their stay.
